Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
It is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
Make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song;
Play skillfully, and shout for joy. Psalm 33:1-3

Music has always been an important part of worship, and its central to the worship experience at Peace. We are blessed with many talented musicians who express their love for God through different musical styles. You, too, can participate in the musical life of Peace by singing joyfully in worship, or by joining one of our music teams.

Musical Styles

8:15 Early Service: This is a simple, intimate service that features traditional hymns accompanied by an acoustic guitar.

9:30 Contemporary  Service:  Our contemporary service is led by our talented Praise Team under the direction of Michael Tschanz accompanied by the Praise Band. The music you will hear during this service are songs by contemporary Christian singers and songwriters, such as Stephen Curtis Chapman, Chris Tomlin, Chris Rice, Michael W. Smith, Darlene Zschech, and Amy Grant. You may also hear traditional hymns sung to a contemporary beat, such as Amazing Grace and Blessed Assurance.

11:00 Traditional Service: Our traditional service is led by our beautiful Chancel Choir under the direction of Jonathan Morris and accompanied by our pianist, Jane Moore. We sing songs from the United Methodist Hymnal such as How Great Thou Art, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, Amazing Grace, and O, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing. You may also hear some original music written by Jonathan Morris.

Want to join one of our musical groups?

Praise Team:
The Praise Team and Praise Band are limited in size by the worship space configuration; all musicians must audition for either the team or the band. The team and band rehearse Wednesday evenings starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room.

Chancel Choir:
The Chancel Choir leads music for the traditional service on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. This group is open to anyone and does not require an audition. While the ability to read music is an advantage, it is not required. The choir rehearses Thursday evenings starting at 7:30 p.m. in the choir loft of the worship space.

Early Service Ensemble:
The Early Service Ensemble provides special music for the traditional service on Sundays at 8:15 a.m. This group rehearses on Sundays at 7:45 a.m. to prepare for the upcoming service.

Other Opportunities

There are numerous opportunities during the year for other ensembles, soloists, and instrumentalists to participate in corporate worship and to support other events and services.
Contact Jonathan Morris at to discuss how you can become more involved in the music ministry.
