You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy. (Exodus 31:13)
Be still, and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)

Sabbaths do not only occur on Sundays. A Sabbath is any time that we step away from our busy lives and devote to God. Retreats are a wonderful time of rest and restoration when we can be still and listen for God’s voice. Below are listed some upcoming retreat opportunities.

Walk to Emmaus

When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:30-32)

In Luke chapter 24 two disciples meet the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus and their lives are forever changed. The Walk to Emmaus is a discipleship retreat in which Christians are invited to spend 72 hours in Christian fellowship, teaching, and renewal. The Walk to Emmaus is ideal for those who want to deepen their spiritual walk, develop as Christian leaders, and connect with an active ecumenical community of believers.

Peace Church participates in two Emmaus communities in Central Florida: Heart of Florida in Polk County and Aldersgate in Lake County. For more information on these communities visit their websites: and
