Peace Online Community Groups on ZOOM

During this time of social distancing, we can still come together to grow in discipleship and engage with our Peace family through our virtual Community Groups. Using an online web-conferencing tool called ZOOM, we have scheduled groups throughout the week to provide opportunities for Bible study, devotion, lively discussion, and personal connection. There’s something for all age groups and interests, so we hope you will find a place to connect. All groups are open, so you can drop in and try several.

Below you will find a list of groups along with a description and the video log in (or phone dial in) information. You will need to download ZOOM onto your computer or other device (via the ZOOM app) in advance of the session.  You may create a ZOOM account if you like, but it’s not necessary to join a Community Group discussion—all you need is the group number listed below. Family Bible Time – Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. (Starting March 28th) Leader: Julie Chatfield This is a class designed for families with children Prek-5th grade.  However, it is full of information that adults will enjoy, and even teenagers might appreciate and learn if they are in a family-oriented mindset.  Grandparents will love it also! Interactive Bible Study – Sundays 10:30 a.m. Leaders Tom Acey, Larry Myers & John Bland We are an interactive bible study group, that is now studying the major prophets. Having completed Isaiah, we will begin our study of Jeremiah this Sunday led by Larry Myers with guidance from John Bland. The group is open to all ages, and we welcome new members. 


Pursuing Peace – Sundays 11:00 a.m. Leader: Ryan Murphy Continuing the format of Pursuing Peace, this virtual discussion will focus on the weekly Scripture and sermon message by offering participants an opportunity to share and ask questions as it pertains to the Bible playing out in practical life. The purpose of the group is to come together in a relaxed atmosphere as the Body of Christ in the spirit of Wesleyan accountability.  It is in our dialogue that the 3 “C”s of CENTERING (prayer/reflection), CONFERRING (sharing) and COMMISSIONING (promoting missional discipleship through and guided by the Spirit) will progress our walk with Jesus Christ. 45s – Sundays at 4:00 p.m. Leader: Julie Chatfield Sunday evening fellowship for our 4th and 5th graders. 45’s is a vibrant ministry where 4th and 5th graders serve others, experience God, grow in Christ and build lasting Christian friendships. Our team encourages kids in their Christian journey while they build a lasting and strong relationship with Him. Peace Youth Live – Sundays at 6:00 p.m. Leader: Emma Harmon Sunday evening fellowship for Peace Youth – 6th – 12th grade. A Morning Walk with Jesus– Mondays at 8:30 a.m. Leader: Ginger Selander Meet for a virtual morning stroll! The discussion will revolve around holding one another accountable in our relationship with Jesus. Each week we will discuss our journey through the following questions: 1-When did you feel closest to Jesus this week? 2- Is there a moment that you felt you were responding to God’s call to be a disciple? 3-When was your faith tested this week? 4-What is your plan for prayer, study, and action for the week to come? 5- Sharing of prayer concerns. Wisdom of the Psalms- Thursdays 7:30 p.m. Leaders: Cindy Wheatley  & Jonathan Morris This will be a casual, engaging conversation about the deep and abiding wisdom we receive when we truly listen to, and engage with, God’s Word. Each week, Jonathan and Cindy will discuss some of their favorite Bible passages and how they speak into our lives. Then we will invite participants to share their own favorite Bible wisdom.
